WellNYS Ambassadors are volunteers who work with the Employee Assistance Program in NYS agencies/facilities and campuses who have agreed to promote WellNYS Everyday. Contact your local EAP Coordinator if you are interested in assisting with promotion at your NYS workplace.

What is the WellNYS Everyday Monthly Challenges?

  • The WellNYS Everyday Monthly Challenges promotes practicing a healthy behavior every day.

  • The goal is to practice one Monthly Challenge healthy behavior for at least 19 days of each month (it doesn't have to be consecutive days), which is the estimated time it takes to form a habit, and an easy number to remember in the year 2019.

  • Some of the Monthly Challenges may already be part of your daily routine. To make it more challenging, practice the behavior for a longer period or ask a co-worker or family member to join you in practicing the Monthly Challenges.

How do I participate in the WellNYS Everyday Monthly Challenges?

  • To participate, log in and click on the Register for Monthly Challenge button.

  • The WellNYS Everyday programs are self-paced and use the honor system.

  • Start each Monthly Challenge on the first day of the month, and end no later than the last day of the month.

  • Is it best to track on a daily or weekly basis? Tracking your progress is extremely powerful and can validate the behavior which may, in turn, motivate you and ensure your successful completion of the program. How often you track is up to you.

Who is eligible?

  • NYS employee and family members. NYS employees can click on the Ask a Family Member to Join button, once they are registered. Please provide the family member's name and email address.

Besides good health, do I receive recognition?

  • Certificates are awarded to all participants who complete at least 19 days of the Monthly Challenges, but you are encouraged to practice the healthy behavior every day.

Below are the Monthly Challenges for 2019.

January: Pick a partner and choose a wellness challenge together.
February: Choose a healthy soup and/or salad.
March: Reach for two healthy snacks.
April: Be mindful and meditate.
May: Try a difference exercise every day.
June: Move, eat healthy, or relax for 1 minute at 1:00 p.m.
July: Stay hydrated with water.
August: Try it, taste it, tally it up fruit and veggie challenge.
September: Fall into tracking (food, finances, fitness, etc.)
October: Take two apples and share one with someone.
November: Journal or reflect on what makes you happy.
December: Practice a random act of kindness.

Is this your first time registering for the Monthly Challenge?

Here are 4 steps to register and track your participation.

Step 1: Click on LOG IN, click on Apply Here to sign up for your account. Enter your name, email address, agency, work address and create a password. Click Submit. A link will be sent to you that says, "Congratulations! Your account has been created. An email was sent to the email address you supplied during the registration process. This email contains a link to verify your account. Check your email and complete the verification step so you can access your account."

Step 2: Open your email with the subject line, "Welcome to WellNYS Everyday." Before you can access your new account, you need to click on the link to verify your email address. Once this step is complete you will be able to login to your WellNYS Everyday account using your email address as your username and the password you created when you signed up for the account. It will say, "Congratulations, your account has been successfully verified! You can now access this system.

Step 3: Type in your email address and password.

Step 4: Click on Register for the Monthly Challenge.
